autoscout24.de introduced price rating a few weeks ago. The goal is to give the customer an assessment of the price-performance ratio of the vehicle. What is basically a good idea, leaves some questions unanswered and could lead to your dealership receiving fewer inquiries.
No transparency of the autoscout price rating for the car dealer
Each vehicle is given a colored price label to indicate how the price-performance ratio compares to similar models. According to autoscout24, it uses its database from the last 14 months to do this. The evaluation is carried out by an algorithm that is based on 10 million. Data records and over 70 equipment elements per vehicle are to be used. The condition of the vehicle, on the other hand, is not taken into account; autoscout24 generally assumes that the vehicle is in good condition.
An example from autoscout24 which should provide information about the price evaluation process
Autoscout24 gives the above example on its explanatory pages on price evaluation. The identical vehicle with identical price gets three different price labels each. These are to be justified by equipment differences as well as by demand differences of different colors.
For the car dealer, however, these criteria are not transparently disclosed. So it is not obvious to the dealer why his offer gets a different price label and how he ggfs. Through a higher data quality could get a better price label. In the end, the only thing left to do is to turn the price screw in order to get a better price label.
Why your dealership could get fewer leads with autoscout price rating
The price labels have now been included in the filter criteria.
users are literally encouraged to view only TOP offers and good offers
The customer can choose from the beginning that he wants to see only "TOP offers" and "good offers". All other vehicles are no longer displayed at all. a preselection already takes place at this point as well as on the search results page.
vehicles with labels like "expensive", "too expensive" or "no information" will probably receive significantly fewer clicks and convert less effectively.
A problem for brand dealers with used car programs
Autoscout itself states:
Criteria such as condition, inspection seals, regional supply and demand differences as well as additional services provided by the seller, possible upgrades and conversions or re-imports are not taken into account.
In plain language, this means that added values such as used car labels like z.B. The world car, warranties and other services have no relevance in the price rating. At the same time, however, the customer is likely to be prepared to pay a little more for precisely these vehicles.
Have you checked your own price labels and keep a constant eye on them? How is your data quality of the advertisements (comparison of 70 features)??
What are your experiences? Are your price evaluations from autoscout comprehensible?? You may already receive fewer inquiries?
The price ratings are not comprehensible and superfluous, because we have a free market economy.
We offer at mobile.De an
Some have no price rating at all.
Allegedly because there are not enough comparison vehicles available.
The vehicle I am offering is the same as the one without the rating.
Allegedly not purchasable ranking?
And the earth is a disk
As24 supposedly takes the price comparison from the customer – and the seller also pays for the worse placement of his advertisement. What a ver..
mobile not lazy has already joined the as24 bullshit. – the rating can be switched off there?
We- free car dealer with VW, audi, porsche, etc. – have to hear from customers that according to autoscout24.de or mobile.De our vehicle is too expensive, although we are usually the cheapest D-wide or even EU-wide. -.-
The price evaluation lets only more questions come up with the "leads" who "acquire" us the stock exchange.
We find a cheek, since this exchange can not compare our vehicles. Because they are USED.
There are beautiful and not so beautiful.
It is taken into account that the vehicle has a service booklet, but not whether it has been maintained and whether it has been done in the manufacturer’s workshop or not.
Are in favor of removing this rating function for vehicles!
Autoscout24 deactivates the price rating on request and it is only a gray field displayed.
Optically much better than the red too expensive sign..!
No customer asks for a vehicle that is branded as too expensive from the start.
Since deactivating the autoscout24 price rating, we have significantly more demand again.
