Poles are more catholic than germans

Otherwise, the views of Poles and Germans on the positions of the Catholic Church differ considerably, as a joint survey by the Allensbach Institute for Public Opinion Research and the Polish polling company "PBS DGA" showed.According to the study commissioned by the daily newspaper "Gazeta Wyborcza," about 90 percent of Germans and 58 percent of Poles support a clerical allowance of contraceptives. Divorce is also acceptable to 90 percent of Germans, but only 36 percent of Poles. According to the survey, 67 percent of Germans and 21 percent of Poles would like to see abortion legislation relaxed.Liberalization of attitudes toward homosexual relations would be welcomed by 76 percent of Germans, but only 20 percent of Poles, according to the survey. The differences in the Vatican's attitude toward women's priesthood and celibacy are similarly serious.
